MYM Recruitment are excited to be working with our award winning Draperstown client who are one of the longest established private trading groups in Northern Ireland.

They wish to recruit a highly driven, hands-on Health & Safety Managerto ensure a strong safety-first culture, moving beyond compliance promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Duties/Responsibilities include but may not be limited to: Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules & regulations are adhered to & are regularly reviewed, updated & communicated.

Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety & welfare at work, including statutory training & reporting.

Ensure the completion & regular review of risk assessments / safe working practices for all work equipment & operations.

Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated & recommended improvements implemented.

Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills & fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections and risk assessments are managed & employees are aware of their responsibilities.

Support the development of Health & Safety policies, systems of work and procedures and Health and Safety Committees.

Delivery of inductions, Toolbox talks and ongoing safety training Ensure full and accurate Health & Safety training records are maintained.

Action regular documented Health & Safety inspections, audits and checks in line with an agreed program.

Coordinate preparations for external audits Liaise with external Health & Safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.

Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation & communicate relevant changes to the business.

Ensure consistency across group relating to all H&S matters Provide regular reports to the Manufacturing Director and senior management teams on relevant Health & Safety activities Participate in review meetings when required to report on relevant Health & Safety matters.

Any other duties which may be required by management.

Ensure First Aid provisions are in place and maintained along first aid records Provide one to one and group training Conduct inductions and identify training requirements for new starts.

Essential

Criteria: Attained, or working towards relevant professional qualification e. g., NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent is essential Experienced conducting risk assessments, Health & Safety compliance reviews and audits.

Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978 and other legislation relevant particularly relevant to manufacturing.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines Clean driving licence held travel required between sites.
