MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE As Supply Chain Cost Analyst, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory valuation and supply chain transactions across the business. Working closely with Finance and Supply Chain teams, you will help ensure stock is accurately costed, supplier claims are effectively managed, and inventory movements are properly controlled and analysed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, process improvement, and working across departments in a fast-paced environment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES This role will involve the following responsibilities:
- Maintain and monitor accurate inventory valuation across the business
- Review and update average cost calculations to ensure stock reflects true landed cost
- Analyse stock adjustments within the General Ledger and investigate variances
- Monitor inter-branch stock transfers and investigate cost discrepancies
- Review freight invoices and ensure accurate allocation of costs to inventory
- Validate supplier pricing against agreed commercial terms
- Investigate discrepancies relating to pricing, quantities, and product quality
- Manage supplier claims including damaged, faulty, or short-shipped goods
- Maintain supplier rebate schedules and ensure accuracy of terms and spend tracking
- Review and manage quarantined stock and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor stock movements and investigate valuation or transfer discrepancies
- Analyse inventory cost trends and highlight anomalies
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving stock and costing issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of inventory control and costing processes

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar analytical, finance, or supply chain role
- Strong understanding of inventory valuation and costing principles
- Experience in finance, stock control, supply chain, or stock accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally
- Proficient in Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience using ERP systems (e.g. GenetiQ/Intact or similar)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in wholesale, distribution or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of landed cost calculations and inventory reconciliations
- Understanding of supplier rebates and stock adjustment analysis
