Salary: £45,000–£55,000 FTE, depending on experience

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Financial Controller to provide maternity cover across two sister companies, Myley Transport and Myley Education (Trading as Boost).
Both businesses share a purpose: improving the lives of people living and working in care homes. Myley Transport provides fully managed excursions and experiences that help care home residents stay connected with the world around them, while Boost is an AI-enabled education and policy platform helping care organisations equip their teams to deliver exceptional care.
This is a varied role spanning both businesses, with responsibility for financial control, management information and day-to-day finance leadership. You’ll own the monthly management accounts and core finance operations to help provide the commercial insight that helps our teams make informed decisions.
You’ll work closely with our Fractional Head of Finance and colleagues across sales, operations and leadership, as well as our outsourced HR provider.
The role would suit someone who enjoys small, fast-growing, purpose-led businesses, is comfortable working independently and can move easily between detailed finance work and the bigger commercial picture.
What you’ll be responsible for
Your responsibilities will include:
Owning the monthly management accounts and month-end processes across both businesses, including journals, accruals, prepayments, deferred and accrued income, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Supporting budgets and forecasts, producing clear variance analysis and management information to inform commercial decision-making.
Maintaining cash-flow forecasts and identifying potential risks and funding requirements early.
