Mylar Specialty Films is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Celanese Corporation and Teijin Limited, with 2000 employees worldwide and manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific, America and Europe. The UK production site is based in Dumfries, Scotland, and the Global Research & Development Operation is based at Wilton on Teesside.
We currently have vacancies at our Dumfries Site for an experienced Mechanical Technician.
- Maintain production equipment and maximise availability through a combination of reactive, proactive, preventative and predictive maintenance methods while working to the highest health & safety standards.
- This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday days with a requirement to work longer shifts as required which includes 12-hour day shifts, night shifts and weekend working.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience carrying out a similar role in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Knowledge and experience of maintaining pumps, fans, gearboxes, bearings, valves, pneumatics, hydraulics and plant services.
- Experience of safe systems of work and risk assessment.
- Adaptable and flexible to provide onsite support outside of normal working hours when required.
- HNC in mechanical engineering desirable.
- Experience of a Computerised Maintenance Management System desirable.
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a valid work permit, if required.
- Comprehensive training & development will be given to the successful candidates.
- This role comes with a competitive remuneration package from £39,000, depending on skills and experience, including optional company pension, health, dental and vision cover.
