They are seeking a passionate and experienced English Language Acquisition Teacher to join their dedicated faculty. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of students from over 40 nationalities.

Position Overview: The successful candidate will be instrumental in empowering students to develop their English language skills and flourish within an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. This role entails fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages independent thought, collaboration, and a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) English Language Acquisition curriculum to students in Grades 6 to 12.
  • Design and implement a school-based English Language Development (ELD) program for students in Grades 6 to 8.
  • Prepare and mark a wide range of assessments following MYP and DP protocols.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students, including those for whom English may not be their first language.
  • Teach and promote English language and culture using a range of student-centered teaching strategies, resources, and technology.
  • Embed IB 'Approaches to Learning' in the curriculum delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Chair of English and other faculty members to establish interdisciplinary links.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest language teaching advancements.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent)
  • International Baccalaureate curriculum experience
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Full knowledge of the subject matter and latest developments in language acquisition
  • Ability to deliver outstanding lessons using diverse teaching strategies and resources
