Welcome to the video first world. From your everyday PowerPoint presentations to Hollywood movies, AI will transform the way we create and consume content. Today, people want to watch and listen, not read - both at home and at work.

Despite the clear preference for video, communication and knowledge sharing in the business environment are still dominated by text, largely because high-quality video production remains complex and challenging to scale - until now.

Meet Synthesia. We are on a mission to make video easy for everyone. Our AI video platform simplifies the entire video production process, making it easy for everyone, regardless of skill level, to create, collaborate, and share high-quality videos. Whether it is for delivering essential training to employees and customers or marketing products and services, Synthesia enables large organizations to communicate and share knowledge through video quickly and efficiently.

About the role. At Synthesia, we are building the future of video communications and collaboration at work. We are looking for a communications and policy professional to join our corporate affairs team. The role will be based in London and will report to our head of corporate affairs.

What you’ll do:

  • Tell our stories in creative and inspiring ways that resonate with our key audiences, including our employees, reporters, thought leaders, social media creators, policy makers, customers and partners.
  • Design and lead proactive media and policy campaigns to help advance business objectives for Synthesia in North America and Europe.
  • Identify and monitor high impact policy areas and trends related to AI that require policy development or advocacy on behalf of Synthesia.
  • Deliver research or policy analysis in response to requests from government stakeholders, when these requests align with our strategic priorities.
  • Work with reporters, thought leaders, social media creators, and policy makers on a daily basis, juggling a combination of proactive and reactive communications efforts that enhance our brand and reputation.
  • Build a strong network of relevant contacts across the UK, North America and mainland Europe (particularly France and Germany).
  • Manage corporate issues and media inquiries via our press office, and act as a spokesperson for Synthesia.
  • Be a trusted partner to Synthesia's executives, supporting their presence at events or preparing them ahead of important meetings with external stakeholders.

What you’ll need:

  • Creativity and drive to tell compelling stories, an unrelenting passion for AI, and an always-on curiosity to learn and explore new technologies and trends.
  • Strong command of the media, policy, and cultural landscape, and an existing network of media and policy contacts in the UK, with the ability to form new contacts in mainland Europe and North America.
  • Strong self-drive and time management capabilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously, ensuring they drive measurable results.
  • Experience in issues management and explaining complicated topics to a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to build external and internal relationships cross-functionally, balance critical thinking with tactical execution, and an attention to detail in the face of changing priorities and shifting demands.
  • Excellent ability to filter essential items from news coverage, as well as great writing and communications skills.

UK Benefits:

  • A hybrid, flexible approach to work where you have access to a lovely office space in Oxford Circus with free lunches on a Wednesday and Friday.
