About us: Alfred House is a residential care home in Bury. We primarily work with vulnerable adults under the age of 65 with a range of complex disabilities and challenging behaviours. We are rated CQC "Good".

As a Care Assistant at our care home, you will help residents enjoy each day by making sure they receive the quality care and support they deserve. You will assist with daily living, providing support and companionship, and sharing great moments and memories. Every day will be different, so you can expect to undertake work that is as varied as it is rewarding. You could be doing anything from supporting residents with their food and drink and following care plans to ensuring that each of our residents has one-to-one time. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Home Care Assistant to join our team. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day care and support of our residents, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care tailored to their individual needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support residents with mobility and physical activities.
  • Plan activities with management and support residents attending.
  • Administer medication as required and directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Assist with meal preparation.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' health and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
  • Implement behaviour management techniques when required.

This position is for 36 hours per week. Ideally, we are looking for flexibility and can offer 3 x 12-hour shifts per week starting at 8 am and finishing at 8 pm. We are flexible across what days.

Requirements:

  • Genuine passion for providing high-quality care and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Must be located in the UK with the right to work (sponsorship not provided).

Education: Minimum Level 3 Health and Social Care

Experience: 2 years Mental Health

Language: English (required)

Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred), NVQ level 3
