Heretaunga Hastings Libraries play a vital role in connecting our community with information, knowledge and each other. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Library Assistant with a can-do attitude to join our Collections and Content Services team working across all our library sites.
The key objective of this position is to process and maintain library collections plus front of house customer service within Hastings District Libraries. This position would be ideal for someone with outstanding people skills, an eye for detail but an appreciation of the bigger picture, proven productivity and the ability to adapt to a range of systems, devices and platforms.
This is a permanent part-time position, working 37 hours per week. You will initially work Tuesday to Saturday, with hours generally 8.30am - 5.30pm Tuesday to Friday (one weekday will be 8.30am - 4.30pm, to be determined) and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in processing library collections
- Experience in a library consortium environment would be an advantage
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Initiative and be able to work in a team environment
- Professional library qualification preferred
