The Role Our Product Specialist play’s a key role within our Technical Claims team, providing technical guidance and support to claims handlers across advice and support to other teams such as the contact centre. This role is the first point of call for any technical or process related query that relates to your area of skills, enabling others to provide accurate and timely responses to customers. Key Responsibilities You will spend 20% processing claims, to maintain competency, ensuring good quality claims handling and adherence to all rules, policies and SLAs. Take responsibility for keeping claims partners and internal colleagues up to date with process changes. Be proactive in the way you deliver advice and support for example offering claims clinics, collaboration sessions and one to one feedback. Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues applying knowledge and experience of Scheme rules and policies for different product types. Liaise with failed institutions, insolvency practitioners and other third parties enabling claims issues to be resolved effectively post declaration. Keep process manuals and training materials up to date and accessible to other users, maintaining security and version control. Contribute to default and contingency planning activities as required. Support the delivery of specific deposits activity as required. Apply knowledge and experience of financial services products to investigate a wide range of compensation claims establishing whether a claim is eligible for compensation and calculating compensation due. Ensure risks to delivery are identified and effectively managed. Contribute to contingency planning activities as required including support for the contact centre. Key Knowledge, Skills and Experience Strong technical claims knowledge. Working knowledge of the technical claims assessment process, including new Emerging Issues. Demonstrate technical knowledge of Deposits process. Ability to work with FSCS Systems. Knowledge of assessing claims on a variety of investments and calculating appropriate redress. Excellent communication and customer focus. Ability to communicate well across a variety of stakeholders, being understood and making complex information accessible and easy to understand. Ability to develop a high level of knowledge of FSCS rules, policies and processes.
