Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to lead on a part of Skyscanner's product that will be instrumental in driving our growth to the next level? We have an open role for a Director of Product focused on Performance Marketing within Audience (marketing) and will be responsible for diversifying Skyscanner's approach to reaching travellers through SEO, SEM, Display, Metasearch, Affiliates marketing, and Martech channels.
The role will be responsible to develop and execute the SEO strategy primarily, along with team leadership for the SEM, Display, Metasearch, Affiliates marketing, and Martech strategies. They would possess the skills required to connect cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and empower their team to deliver at pace. The ideal candidate has more than 10 years of SEO and product management experience, a deep understanding of how search engines interact with digital platforms, and the ability to drive growth in organic traffic through innovative, data-driven product strategies.
What will this role be responsible for delivering on?
- SEO Product Strategy: Define and drive the comprehensive SEO product roadmap that reflects short-term and long-term business objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing teams to embed SEO best practices into the product lifecycle.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, UX/UI, and content teams to create SEO and user-friendly product features and enhancements. Act as the SEO subject matter expert during product development discussions.
- Technical SEO Leadership: Lead technical SEO projects such as site architecture improvements, page speed optimization, and mobile-first indexing. Collaborate with the development team to implement schema markup, structured data, and crawl optimization.
- Product Innovation: Identify opportunities for innovation in new product features, functionalities, and user experiences that enhance organic traffic acquisition. Advocate for SEO requirements in product design and feature development.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze SEO data and performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and SEO platforms such as Ahrefs and SEMrush. Use these insights to inform product decisions and prioritize initiatives.
- Organic Growth Ownership: Take full ownership of organic traffic growth, working on complex problems such as large-scale site migrations, international SEO, and e-commerce SEO.
- SEO Tooling & Automation: Drive the integration of SEO automation tools and workflows to optimize processes such as keyword research, monitoring, and reporting. Advocate for SEO-specific product features that enhance automation.
- Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing product team leading the SEO, SEM, Display, Metasearch, Affiliates marketing, and Martech strategies. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment focused on continuous learning and improvement.

What skills do we need?
- 10+ years of experience in SEO and product management, with a proven track record of driving significant organic traffic growth.
- Extensive knowledge of technical SEO, web development, and search engine algorithms, with hands-on experience in addressing technical SEO issues.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and aligning SEO strategies with product roadmaps.
- Strong familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog) and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Search Console).
- Expertise in large-scale SEO projects, including site migrations, platform changes, and mobile-first strategies.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Experience working in e-commerce, marketplace, or large-scale content-driven businesses is a plus.
- Exceptional stakeholder and project management skills, with a proven track record of managing multiple stakeholder groups and delivering products at scale, influencing cross-functionally at a senior level in an effective way.
- Experience making hard, data-driven decisions (including creating and running experiments and A/B tests, User Testing, Analytics, Market Research, Competitor Analysis, Defining Metrics and KPIs).
Preferred skills
- An undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, finance, or MBA.
- Experience in international SEO and multi-language site optimization.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development principles as they relate to SEO.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in agile product management and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
