This is a great opportunity to join a well-respected Games Development Studio as a Buildings Assistant based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.
In this position, the Buildings Assistant will report to the Buildings Manager and be responsible for helping to manage and maintain all aspects of the facilities and Environmental, Health and Safety, and Fire Safety performance. This includes assisting in managing any outsourced third-party facilities management service providers brought in under contract for our Horsham site. During busy periods, weekend work may be regularly required.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Buildings Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy studio environment alongside the other Studio Support team members. On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- Assist the Buildings Manager in overseeing day to day Fire and Health and Safety compliance
- Take ownership of selected vendor contracts, scheduling, and contractor management
- Work with the Finance department to ensure financial processes are correctly followed
- Assist the Buildings Manager in developing CA's Environmental Management System and sustainability initiatives
- Be one of the first ports of call either face to face, or via our office ticket system, for all aspects of the studio
- Conduct and document weekly and monthly office walkarounds and report key findings to affected stakeholders
- Be on the out of hours callout contact list, responding appropriately to emergencies, or urgent issues, as they arise and rectify accordingly
- Assist the Buildings Manager or Facilities Assistant with any ad-hoc tasks (including manual handling) and cover selected duties during absence if required
Essential
- Experience implementing Environmental and Health and Safety Management Systems
- A strong interest in sustainability and sustainable development in a business context
- Experience with admin-based work
- Experience with manual handling, some heavy lifting may be required at times
- Ability to clearly communicate using a variety of methods to enable effective collaboration
- Friendly demeanour and customer service-related skills
- Must work well within a team
- Proficient using MS Office
Desirable
- Health and Safety certification (IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent)
- Environmental Management certification (NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate, IEMA Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management, or equivalent)
- Facilities Management certification (IWFM Level 2)
- Full/clean driving licence.
