Overview:
- Senior Receptionist - Private Healthcare GP Services, at The Wilmslow Hospital
- Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire.
- Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday
- Shifts: Rotating between early and late shifts. 7:45 am to 7:15 pm service hours.
- Contract: Permanent
- Salary: Band 3.

We are now seeking an experienced Senior Receptionist to join our Front Desk team, working alongside two other Receptionists in a highly professional, patient-focused setting. Wilmslow Hospital is an exclusive private patient facility within HCA Healthcare UK, delivering outstanding care in a calm, discreet, and welcoming environment. Our Front Desk team plays a critical role in shaping the patient experience, acting as the first point of contact for our private patients and ensuring a seamless journey throughout their visit. Your role is stand alone as you will be responsible for the GP services. There will be a high level of autonomy in this position, requiring senior reception experience.
What You'll Do:
- Meet and greet private patients with warmth, professionalism, and discretion
- Act as the first point of contact for private patient GP appointments.
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end private patient experience
- Maintain accurate patient records and databases, ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Proactively support referrals and liaise with clinicians and internal departments
- Coordinate specimen collection and engage with laboratory services
- Liaise with external labs and ensure timely follow-up and communication
- Manage private patient billing, payments, and related administrative processes
- Carry out extensive administrative duties including appointment scheduling, correspondence, and record management
- Support the wider Front Desk team to ensure smooth, efficient daily operations, cleanliness and presentation of the private hospital front of house area. First impressions to our private patients matter.
- Pro-actively use initiative to follow up appointments, and ensure a seamless patient experience.
What You Will Bring:
- Previous front-of-house or receptionist experience within a health centre or front of house experience within an elite 5-star hotel or luxury customer service environment, where exceptional service standards are essential.
- A strong commitment to delivering five-star customer service
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Confidence using administrative systems and patient databases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, professional approach in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
