Senior Staff Nurse - Pre-Assessment, London: Platinum Medical Centre (The Wellington Hospital Outpatients). Full time 37.5 hours per week. Shift times: Monday - Friday, 4 days per week, 0830 to 1830. We're looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our Pre-Assessment team at the Platinum Medical Centre, The Wellington Hospital Outpatients, currently rated "Good" by the CQC. As the largest private outpatient centre in the UK, we see more than 30,000 patients each year. Our centre brings together leading specialists, the latest diagnostic technologies and day surgeries all under one roof, with expertise spanning orthopaedic, spinal, digestive, oncology and women's health services.
Responsibilities: As a Senior Staff Nurse in Pre-Assessment, you will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care without direct supervision. You will manage the end-to-end pre-assessment process, including arranging appointments, liaising closely with consultants and their secretaries, and ensuring patients are safely prepared for procedures. The role involves taking patient observations, obtaining full medical histories, providing medication advice in collaboration with consultants, and taking appropriate action in response to abnormal pathology results. You will work autonomously, taking accountability for your own practice, while also supporting and supervising junior members of staff. As a senior member of the team, you will provide clinical guidance, contribute to service improvements, and ensure care is always delivered in a safe, dignified and patient-centred manner.
What You'll Bring: Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration. Experience within a pre-assessment or outpatient setting. Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and take accountability for your practice. Experience supporting or supervising junior staff. Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
