About The Role: Primarily based in the probation office, you will provide information, advice and support to individuals, helping them regain control over their finances. You will manage multiple caseloads, keeping meticulous records of every interaction and coordinating benefit applications.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Offer budgeting advice, arrange payment plans, and assist with benefit applications.
- Support clients in opening bank accounts and understanding their finances.
- Collaborate with external agencies such as local councils, charities, housing providers, utility providers and probation officers.
- Maintain detailed records of every interaction and measure progress.
- Deliver group and one‑to‑one support sessions, including financial literacy workshops.
What We’re Looking For:
- Relationship building skills – able to connect with people at all levels and build genuine, trusting relationships with service users.
- Compassionate, non‑judgemental approach to working with vulnerable individuals who may have complex needs, mental health challenges, or addiction.
- Excellent organisation and time‑management – able to handle a busy caseload and maintain detailed records.
- Safeguarding awareness – able to identify safeguarding risks and fully supported through any challenging interventions.
- Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a changing environment.
Enhanced DBS check and HMPPS EL1 vetting required; start date at least 6 weeks after offer.
