Solution Engineer to join Adaptive Financial Consulting Ltd in London. The role focuses on designing and delivering front-office technology solutions to capital, commodity, and digital market participants.
Responsibilities
- Be an ambassador to Adaptive's clients, building strong, long-term trusting relationships.
- Help others grow and evolve through coaching, mentorship and feedback.
- Be accountable for the success and technical excellence of solutions delivered to clients.
- Contribute individually to the codebase on the most challenging aspects of a delivery.
- Ensure the output quality of the team meets Adaptive's standards.
- Apply best practices in design and development (e.g., separation of concerns).
- Advocate testing approaches (e.g., behaviour-driven testing).
- Define and facilitate adoption of standards within teams.
- Design performant and resilient architecture, with detailed design that reflects domain and client needs.
- Advocate for technical decisions to team members, clients and other stakeholders.
- Lead a team in proper adherence to the software development life-cycle processes.
- Work with leadership to ensure that delivered work meets time, budget and other constraints.
- Escalate and articulate risks to team members, management and clients.
Qualifications
- Exceptional technologist with a passion for solving complex problems as part of a team.
- Experience building solutions in the capital markets domain.
- Strong communication skills, authenticity and integrity in interactions.
- Experience with Java, building software solutions in highly performant, low-latency environments.
- Experience using Aeron in high-performance capital markets or digital assets scenarios.
- Familiarity with appropriate data structures (e.g., sets, maps, queues).
- Professional experience in building solutions such as:
- Order Management Systems
- Execution Management Systems
- Smart Order Routing
- Trading Venues & Exchanges
- Matching Engines
- Algo Containers
- Risk Management
- FIX Gateways
- Experience working within an Agile environment and following a mature SDLC.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and consensus algorithms.
- Experience with event-driven architecture and replicated state machines.
