Our Real Estate Disputes team are seeking a new Senior Associate hire into our London office.

Responsibilities

The Real Estate Disputes team deliver a high-quality legal service. The primary focus of the role will be on residential property issues with a focus on issues arising from the Building Safety Act 2022.

You will enjoy a challenging and varied caseload as well as excellent professional development opportunities. The team is assisted by outstanding knowledge lawyers and dedicated support staff.

The department acts for a broad range of clients including;

  • Commercial landlords and some tenants.
  • Investors.
  • Developers.
  • Ground rent and other residential landlords.
  • Social Housing organisations.
  • Private individuals.

The firm operates a hybrid agile working policy. We expect 3 days per week in the office.

Essential & Desirable Criteria

  • Experience of a range of residential matters is sought including;
  • Building safety issues:
  • Working knowledge of issues relating to the Principal Accountable Person and Part 4 of the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Dealing with service charge challenges and advice based on Part 5 & Schedule 8 of the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • Remediation Contribution Orders and Remediation Orders.
  • Advising on Enforcement Notices issued by Local Authorities.
  • Queries relating to Government grant funding schemes for external wall remediation.
  • Non building safety related service charge matters including s.27A applications, s.20 consultation, breach of covenant and related Tribunal proceedings.
  • Enforcement of easements and restrictive covenants.
  • Transactional support work.
  • There are opportunities for involvement in other areas
