Guy Carpenter is seeking a motivated and experienced professional eager to grow and thrive within our market-leading Credit, Bond & Political Risk Team in London, UK, as a Treaty Reinsurance Broker (Vice President level). In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and deepen your expertise within the dynamic and expanding credit specialty markets. Working within a nurturing and collaborative team environment, you will engage closely with clients, underwriters, and other partners to thoughtfully negotiate and place reinsurance contracts across a truly global marketplace. Responsibilities
- Cultivate and nurture strong, lasting relationships with clients through regular conversations and meaningful engagement, including international visits.
- Guide the identification and understanding of risks in credit, bond, political risk, and related financial areas with care and insight.
- Collaborate closely with analytics and underwriting teams to co-create tailored client solutions and thoughtfully negotiate terms with reinsurers.
- Support the renewal process, manage placement documentation, and ensure smooth and timely follow-up on contract needs.
- Contribute actively to our sales and business development initiatives, including preparing responses to RFPs and tenders with a team-oriented approach.
- Stay attuned to evolving market trends and share insights with clients, brokers, and colleagues to help them navigate changes confidently.
- Uphold our professional standards with integrity and embrace MMC systems and tools to support your work effectively.
Qualifications
- Preferably holds Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications such as Cert CII, Dip CII, or ACII.
- Proven experience as an insurance/reinsurance broker or underwriter, ideally with a focus on credit, surety, and/or political risk.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills to communicate insights clearly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage with clients and reinsurers with confidence and empathy.
- A natural ability to build and sustain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, combined with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Comfortable at working collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and industry leaders at all levels.
- A commitment to handling confidential information with discretion and integrity, and managing potential conflicts thoughtfully.
- Resilience and adaptability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Confidence in recognising associated risks and designing (re)insurance risk transfer solutions with care and insight.
