Fitch Group is a global leader in financial information services and is seeking a Director based in our Manchester office.
Responsibilities
- Define the collection strategy for new fundamental data sets needed across Fitch Group.
- Collaborate with Data Operations teams, analytics staff, and Product Owners to assure data quality and availability.
- Lead the initiative to centralise, streamline, and accelerate the capture of fundamental and alternative content sets.
- Translate stakeholder needs into practical initiatives and collection methodologies.
- Lead experimentation to improve and modernise collection and extraction processes, including piloting new tools.
- Shape the team’s thinking on process developments and create an environment of constructive challenge.
- Develop long‑term strategies and contingency plans, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Provide guidance on prioritising tasks, manage resourcing, and deliver on agreed timelines and SLAs.
- Set standards for client service and maintain high‑quality delivery.
- Communicate effectively with senior leaders, build trust, and establish collaborative networks.
- Provide strong leadership, foster empowerment, and resolve team conflicts.
Qualifications
- Experience working with fundamental data in an accounting, auditing, or credit risk environment, with understanding of IFRS, GAAP and related processes.
- Proven ability to lead pilots/experiments and drive adoption into business‑as‑usual.
- Demonstrated experience assessing and onboarding new or alternative datasets.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team while working independently.
- Preferred: CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CFA qualification or ongoing pursuit.
- Self‑starter who learns new processes quickly and accurately.
- Can‑do attitude and attention to detail.
