Why we need this role
Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, an IT Application Specialist is responsible for the provision of technical support, deployment, and design for a portfolio of business‑critical applications.
What you will do
- You will provide a combination of 2nd and 3rd line support and be the technical subject matter expertise for a portfolio of business systems.
- In the event of application issues, you will work with Incident Management Teams to restore service quickly and efficiently, and, where required, with Problem and Change Management Teams to complete follow‑up actions.
- You will plan and execute changes in accordance with policies and processes, deliver 2nd/3rd line operational support for IT services, document procedures, processes, and high‑ and low‑level designs, and support Service Delivery Managers with application changes at CAB meetings.
- You will work with the Business Applications and Infrastructure Teams to maintain a pipeline of platform maintenance and enhancement activities, research and keep up‑to‑date with current and emerging technologies, and act as a technical resource and, where required, technical lead for projects and BAU activities, ensuring delivery within agreed scope and timeframe.
- You will work collaboratively with the IT team, colleagues and suppliers to deliver technical solutions per business requirements, and participate in a design authority group on projects to maintain end‑to‑end integrity of the solution.
What we're looking for
- Experience managing/supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications with Finance & Operations being desirable.
- Experience with ETL/Data Transformation solutions (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
- Experience with scripting and automation (Powershell, VBScript, Python, etc.).
- Experience managing a Microsoft 365 tenant, including SharePoint Online, Teams, and Power Platform (desirable).
- Experience managing an Azure or other cloud environment.
- Strong awareness of IT security best practices.
- 3–4 years of experience in a similar role, looking for a progressive step.
Working Conditions
Colt DCS operates in a hybrid working model. This role may require occasional on‑call availability and may involve working outside of standard business hours during security incidents or high‑risk periods.
