The Senior Terrorism & Political Violence Broker serves as the primary liaison between clients and insurers, managing complex, high-value accounts and applying specialist placement expertise to support revenue growth within the Crisis Management division. The role advises on difficult-to-place risks, develops placement strategies, reviews policy contracts, and negotiates competitive terms. It also contributes to regional strategy and business growth initiatives, and mentors junior brokers. This position requires independent account management, ensures compliance with regulatory and technical standards, and provides leadership to help the broking team achieve operational and financial objectives.
The Role
- Lead placement, renewal, and amendment of insurance programs, including market engagement, quote negotiation, binding, and mid-term servicing to ensure contract certainty.
- Assess client risk exposures through data, analytics, and needs/gap analysis to design and recommend optimal coverage structures and risk solutions.
- Develop, review, and deliver high-quality submissions and presentations to support new business acquisition, retention, and relationship growth.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with insurers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders to secure competitive terms and maximize client outcomes.
- Collaborate with global broking teams and internal colleagues to support account expansion, cross-selling opportunities, and peer reviews.
- Contribute to broking thought leadership and process improvement while coaching and supporting brokers in training and staying aligned with market developments.
Qualifications
- Excellent insurance industry knowledge and experience.
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving capabilities, including managing small projects, applying critical thinking, and adapting to change.
- Analytical mindset with experience in risk assessment, policy interpretation, and contract review.
- Experience of working with and adhering to processes and systems to support client services.
- Efficient communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, judgment, and interpersonal effectiveness, with the ability to lead small groups, motivate others, promote teamwork, and manage conflict constructively.
- Preferably education to degree level or equivalent.
- Preferably with the addition of a professional qualification of ACII or similar.
