The Firco Team oversees the screening and review of payments and client data to ensure compliance with sanctions and AML requirements. The team manages first‑ and second‑line reviews, maintains screening rules, and supports internal stakeholders through timely analysis, issue resolution, and process oversight. With a focus on accuracy, risk control, and operational efficiency, the team plays a key role in safeguarding the organisation's financial crime controls.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform Level 1 first and second review of messages stopped in Fircosoft Continuity
- Manage staff split between processing stopped messages in Firco Continuity and the creation and checking of GCIF/CCIF/CDM
- Provide training and feedback for team members
- Monitor and respond to queries from internal teams via the Firco Team mailbox
- Utilise skills matrix to enhance skills knowledge across all Team processes
- Create weekly shift rota to ensure coverage for all 3 shifts within the team
- Attend and contribute in meetings in place of team manager
- Lead and manage projects for the Firco Team
- Produce monthly stats package for the Firco team including number of referrals and Rules/Good Guys created
- Create Firco Rules to help manage the hit rate in Firco Continuity
- Ensure completion of various checklists both daily and ad-hoc
- Host monthly team meetings, including payment review sessions.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
- Experience using client screening/payment filter software such as Fircosoft (or similar)
- Experience creating Sanctions and PEP lists
- Current understanding of AML regulatory requirements
- Analytical knowledge and expertise with ability to interrogate large data
- Great organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Customer-centric career experience
