This job is with Allianz Commercial, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. We are hiring an Associate Portfolio Manager (Global Private Credit) for Private Credit secondaries. This position is based in our London or Frankfurt office.
With a footprint across Europe, US, and Asia, the Global Private Credit team invests in private credit primaries, secondaries, and co-investments on behalf of Allianz and third-party clients. The team currently comprises an international and diverse group of 15 investment professionals. As part of the growing importance of credit secondaries for the platform, the team is now seeking to hire a new investment professional to support the growth of the segment.
What You Do
- The new team member will predominantly focus on private credit secondaries, in addition to working with the team across the full range of its investment activities as necessary.
- Active deal sourcing through origination network of advisers and GPs of private credit secondaries opportunities.
- Evaluate potential investment opportunities performing Top-down and bottom-up portfolio analysis, including detailed portfolio company research.
- Run due diligence process, preparation of materials and presentation of investment opportunities in investment committee meetings.
- Structure and execute transactions in close collaboration with internal and external counsel.
- Active role in life cycle management of investments.
- Build and maintain relationships with fund managers, institutional investors, and other stakeholders.
What You Bring
- You like to support a growing business, applying your skills to add value to a variety of tasks including business/product development, fundraising, asset management, and various internal initiatives.
- Excellent academic track record, CFA certification preferred.
- You have gained 4 to 8 years of working experience in leveraged finance or direct lending.
- Experience in private credit secondaries or transactions are an advantage.
- Understanding of key ESG concepts and a general appreciation of sustainable investing.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with high level of attention to detail.
- Ambitious, self-motivated with strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices.
- Proficient in English in writing and speaking.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
