Overview
Solicitor (2-6 PQE), Scotland Liability Team – Location: Glasgow (primary) / Edinburgh (regular presence encouraged). Team: Scotland Liability.
Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of matters, consisting of primarily personal injury work.
- Work closely with a Legal Director and senior lawyers on more complex, technical, and high-value cases.
- Handle a diverse range of liability matters, including regulatory and non-injury claims.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, prepare advice reports, and provide clear and effective client communication.
- Attend court hearings, consultations, and meetings as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Liability team based across both the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.
Requirements
- 2-6 years\’ post-qualification experience.
- Litigation experience is essential; experience in personal injury or general delict is preferred.
- Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, flexible approach, with a willingness to work between the Glasgow and Edinburgh offices as well as from home.
Working Arrangement
- This is an office-based role with a hybrid element.
- The expectation is 4-5 office days attendance initially, transitioning to a 3/2 office-home split if you wish once established.
