What does a successful Technical Architect do?

Technical Development Lead is currently a hands-on, technical leader and developer experienced in full stack Java, Cloud, Web and mobile technologies with working knowledge of Domain Driven Designs, Event Based Architecture, API and microservices architecture. You must be passionate about new technologies and demonstrate working knowledge in various technologies across Cloud, UI, Application, Security and Data architecture domains. You will join the Fiserv's Global Issuer organization development team to lead and build new cloud native applications. You will be required to work in a cross functional environment in defining and building end-to-end solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Demonstrate working knowledge across a broad range of application and engineering patterns, tools and frameworks that can be used to complement the product delivery.
  • Manage a team of developers within your own pod.
  • Lead and be hands on with the low level designs, feature development and overseeing the delivery possibly across multiple workstreams and ensuring all engineering standards are applied and adhered to.
  • Manage the implementation across the full project lifecycle from the gathering and interpreting requirements into technical designs.
  • Create technical specifications and lead the change through the development and testing phases until deployment.

What You Will Need To Have

  • Bachelor's Degree at College of Engineering and Technology and minimum of 8 years of related IT experience, designing and deploying enterprise-level business or technical applications.
  • Working experience of a wide range and expert on some of distributed and cloud technologies with experience of their integration and configuration: e.g. Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP); Containerisation (Kubernetes/OpenShift); Microservices; Kafka; Java/JavaScript; Quarkus/Spring frameworks; distributed databases (Postgres/Yugabyte/RDS/Aurora); API gateways (Apigee/Mulesoft/etc.); UI (Angular JS/React/HTML/HTMX/CSS3); DevOps (CI/CD); XML/JSON, Mobile and Application Middleware (ESB/Datapower), PhoneGap/iOS/Android SDKs, etc.
  • Working experiences with microservices, mobile and web app security concepts, session Management, performance tuning, automated testing techniques, high availability engineering, and database technologies for mobile and web apps.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as rules, AI and Machine Learning.
  • Strong knowledge of application development technologies, tools, methodologies as well as all functional areas in an IT organization.
  • Excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in both agile/scrum and waterfall life cycle application development.
  • Experience and comfort in mentoring junior staff.

What Will Be Nice To Have

  • Relevant digital solutions experience in the payment solutions domain will be highly regarded.
  • Any working experience working with any other payment solutions including mainframe environment would be of advantage.
