Role Overview
You will be responsible for ensuring site assets meet legislative requirements through managing statutory inspections, maintenance work, and timely closure of remedial actions. You will act as the Competent Person for the LOLER, PSSR, Legionella programmes, manage third‑party inspections, conduct audit programmes, and serve as the site point of contact for insurance inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture and ensure adherence to JM policies (HR/EHS/Security).
- Ensure arrangements are in place for achieving legislative requirements on all plant and equipment, including but not limited to pressure systems, lifting inspections, legionella, asbestos, and LEV.
- Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance are delivered on time by working with stakeholders.
- Implement and oversee remedial works identified from inspections and maintenance, ensuring timely completion to the relevant standard by competent persons.
- Manage 3rd‑party inspection and maintenance contracts and serve as on‑site point of contact for compliance works and permits to work.
- Manage audit programme of assets to identify areas of improvement and non‑conformity.
- Provide reporting to the business on compliance levels and areas of non‑conformity with mitigation plans.
Key Skills
- Industrial experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment.
- Experience in managing contractor processes and contractor management disciplines.
- Knowledge of current and future legislation, statutory requirements and best practice.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities, and to work both independently and as a team member to accomplish objectives.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience of HSE frameworks and working with the Competent Authority.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Project, Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
- Knowledge of CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo or Hexagon).
