Compliance Engineer (Electrical)

Closing Date: 5th April 2026

We are looking for a time-served Electrical Engineer to ensure the site remains electrically compliant with current legislation and Diageo Global Technical standards. This role covers all aspects of electrical compliance, including HV/LV systems, functional safety (SIL), machinery safety (PUWER), hazardous area inspections, and more. This position will report to the Site Engineering maintenance manager (Compliance) for Leven Packaging.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the site stays in sync with electrical legislation and maintain demonstrable compliance.
  • Coordinate external electrical compliance services and inspection contracts, supporting the completion of remedial actions.
  • Set up and maintain all compliance/legislative PPMs in SAP with robust task lists and frequencies.
  • Develop standardised engineering strategies for electrical functional safety across the site.
  • Maintain compliance with Engineering SFIPs and PUWER risk assessments for new equipment.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory developments and standard processes in compliance control.
  • Ensure all electrical drawings and documents are accurate, up to date, and accessible.
  • Prepare reports and update visual management for the maintenance manager.

We Would Love To Hear From You If You

  • Are a time-served Electrical Engineer, with an HNC or equivalent experience.
  • Hold CompEx 1-4 certification.
  • Are qualified in the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Are computer literate (e.g., Microsoft Office and CMMS such as SAP).
  • Proven experience as a maintenance electrician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Can read and interpret electrical drawings.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of electrical legislation and standards.
  • Experience with machinery and functional safety systems.
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Engineering (ME), packaging, lean methodologies, process control, and RCM.
  • Experience with SAP or other MRP systems, planned maintenance, environmental, and quality systems.
