As the Control Systems/Automation Engineer you will develop and maintain the various systems used on the Clitheroe Site to control each of the manufacturing processes.
Your goal / purpose will be to work closely with the other Control Systems/Automation Engineers, to deliver the control aspects of capital projects. Your success will contribute to improving the safety and performance of the production units on the Clitheroe Site.
Responsibilities
- Updating alarm systems following alarm reviews.
- Monitoring the control systems to ensure that there are no hidden faults or cyber-attacks.
- Implementing any changes needed for new product trials or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Learning new control arrangements to improve Plant efficiencies.
- Assisting the maintenance department to locate issues and so limit downtime.
- Managing the operation and upgrading of PLCs to give the required reliability levels.
- Integrating new modules into the existing control systems to avoid obsolescence issues.
- Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) studies and follow up actions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an HNC/HND in electrical, instrumentation or control/automation or a time served apprenticeship
- Experience with distributed control systems and/or SCADA/PLC/HMI systems.
- Good working knowledge of industrial instrumentation and electrical systems.
