We are a multidisciplinary group of engineers, scientists, analysts, and consultants working across scales from high level strategy and policy development through to feasibility, design, procurement and due diligence. We work in a range of sectors, with a focus on energy, water, property, cities and transport.

The role requires strong content knowledge in the field of climate change and the built environment, collectively with a sound appreciation of quantitative exploration and carbon accounting, alongside excellent report writing and communication skills. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills to develop relationships with others. The scope of work of the team includes research and enquiry of climate change mitigation to develop robust evidence bases to inform conclusion; modelling of emissions, costs, revenues and related data to inform climate change and sustainability strategies; and more.

Your role will include:

  • Exploration and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Preparing and delivering compelling client- and public-facing reports.
  • Developing comprehensive strategies and policy recommendations.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and/or training to client teams and stakeholders.
  • Energetic participation in knowledge and skills networks within Arup and the wider professional community.
  • Contributing to the corporate sustainability of Arup as a firm.

We are looking for people with the following skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's university degree. We would prefer qualifications which demonstrate quantitative study. Other relevant qualifications will be considered.
  • Candidates should be chartered or working towards chartership in a relevant professional institution.
  • Knowledge in at least two of: climate change strategy and policy, carbon/GHG modelling, climate change mitigation strategy and carbon management, greenhouse gas measurement/modelling.
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following sectors: public sector/cities, water, urban development, energy or property.
  • Knowledge working in a relevant field of consulting. Other relevant knowledge in a specialist advisory role will be considered.
