Overview of the Role
As a Principal Information Management Consultant you will lead advisory projects across Mott MacDonald’s Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit. Your work will provide end‑to‑end trusted advice to clients in the energy, transport, water and capital construction sectors, helping them create and maintain strong information management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of advisory projects, manage concurrent priorities, and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
- Design and embed information management strategies and capabilities on major infrastructure programmes in line with BS1192 / ISO 19650.
- Develop information requirements documentation, BIM execution plans and facilitate information exchange.
- Communicate with suppliers and BIM managers to formulate delivery requirements.
- Support sales and business development activities, building and maintaining client relationships to grow the business.
- Champion Mott MacDonald’s brand and capabilities across the information management markets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in information management for at least one key growth sector: Water, Buildings, Rail, Aviation or Defence.
- Experience with infrastructure project delivery processes and capital construction programmes.
- Strong knowledge of BS1192 / ISO 19650 principles and BIM execution planning.
- Familiarity with contractual implications of information requirements and change control.
- Understanding of data management concepts and tools to support information management.
- Experience in communicating with suppliers and engaging BIM managers.
- Strong commercial awareness and leadership skills in managing projects.
- Excellent business analysis and problem‑solving skills, able to develop and deliver tailored solutions.
- Strategic planning abilities to help clients achieve business objectives.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with clients.
