Summary of Role

The Business Analyst delivers the firm’s innovation agenda by identifying, analysing, and shaping business requirements to drive process improvement, client service excellence, and technology solutions. The role works with stakeholders across the firm to explore opportunities for improvement and lead projects that support efficiency, accuracy, and growth, while contributing to the strategic development of the team and wider business.

Key Tasks

  • Engage stakeholders to gather, understand and document business needs, turning them into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Analyse existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and map improved future-state workflows.
  • Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of innovation projects, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Conduct research into legal technology trends and emerging tools, producing recommendations that align with firm strategy.
  • Lead communication, training, and stakeholder engagement activities to drive adoption of new tools and ways of working.
  • Track and evaluate the success of innovation initiatives using qualitative and quantitative metrics.

Qualifications and Experience Preferred:

  • A degree in Business, Technology, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience in business analysis, change, or innovation roles within a law firm, professional services, or regulated environment; proven ability to translate business needs into tangible project outputs.
  • Detailed knowledge of law firm business areas and services is desirable.
  • Experience with legal systems (e.g., Document Management Systems, Practice Management Systems, DocuSign, HighQ datarooms); familiarity with process-mapping tools, requirement-gathering frameworks, no-code/low-code platforms, automation, and AI tools is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications (Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum Master, Business Analysis such as BCS, IIBA) are an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • Comfortable working independently on multiple priorities, curious, pragmatic mindset, and willingness to challenge the status quo.
