About the Team

We are looking for a Billing Assistant to join our busy and rewarding finance team.

About The Role

Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Billing Assistant will work with the fee-earners, partners and PAs to ensure invoices are dispatched promptly and respond to client queries. The Billing Assistant will work closely with Billing Coordinators to support them and liaise with Credit Control and Cashier teams to maintain open communication and workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch bills to clients and act as the first point of contact for invoice queries.
  • Liaise with PAs, matter handlers/partners to resolve client queries, including sending invoice amendments to Billing Coordinators.
  • Support Billing Coordinators with WIP transfers, WIP write-offs, CP/MP/MH changes, adding PO numbers, reissuing invoices and other ad‑hoc tasks.
  • Support client relationships in bill delivery to meet procurement requirements/expectations.
  • Manage billing projects for key clients such as WIP management and specific billing requirements.
  • Manage the Billing Assistants group inbox, resolving requests received.
  • Review new client and matter requests in Intapp Workflow.
  • Return monies on client accounts and/or refunds as necessary, contact client for bank details and prepare immediate payment forms.
  • Handle any other ad‑hoc queries and projects as required.

About You

You will have a professional manner, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, previous office experience, flexibility to thrive in a fast‑paced team, strong numeracy and attention to detail, and a passion for being a team player.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • At least one year of previous work experience in an office environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, communicating at all levels.
  • Strong numeracy skills and proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Elite is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload.
  • Team player and enthusiastic.
