The Corporate Communications team at Standard Chartered, responsible for leading and implementing the Group-level communications strategy, is seeking a high-performing and motivated professional to join the team in London, the Bank's global headquarters. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with excellent writing skills, strong media awareness and proven project management capabilities. The role requires sound judgement, a good understanding of global affairs and the evolving sustainability landscape, the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments, and a proactive mindset. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting executive, sustainability and enterprise level communications and working across a broad and integrated scope that includes strategy, media, digital, web and corporate brand initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing corporate communications strategies, plans and key messaging to support and promote the Bank's strategy and objectives, key media and brand partnerships, initiatives, products, and services.
  • Coordinate the delivery of integrated communications campaigns aligned to the Bank's strategic priorities - including sustainability.
  • Support global sustainability announcements through message development, press materials, stakeholder alignment, briefing notes, and digital activation.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze the media landscape, working closely with the Group Media team to manage reputation and identify opportunities.
  • Contribute to key strategic moments and events where necessary such as the World Economic Forum, Annual General Meetings (AGMs), Investor Days, COP and Climate Weeks.
  • Assist in and manage, where necessary, the development of communications and media materials such as briefing notes, key messages, Q&A, and news summaries.
  • Work closely with web and digital teams to enhance content across sc.com, including support for formal sustainability disclosures and annual reporting cycles.
  • Assist in managing Executive and partnerships communications activity and engagement, coordinating with colleagues in other geographical markets when necessary to support activity.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure that the Bank's messaging is consistent across all communication channels.
  • Support the preparation of reports and briefings to senior management and other stakeholders on corporate communications activity, issues, and trends.
  • Manage vendor relationship processes where necessary including governance requirements, invoicing, and budget tracking.
  • Support CABM colleagues to deliver high performance across the team.
  • Look for opportunities to learn from colleagues and join internal and external training programmes and events to build and maintain corporate communications skills.
  • Build and maintain a network of key stakeholders across the Bank.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in corporate communications, PR, journalism, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and experience working in a bank or financial institution would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of and keen interest in sustainability and sustainable finance.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise recommendations.
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, including senior management and third-party vendors, across multiple locations.
