The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining St. James\’s Place Advice Policy, interpreting business and legislative requirements across the UK business. The jobholder is responsible for ensuring the Advice Framework is appropriately updated, as well as designing and maintaining Suitability Letter templates, training and communication materials of a technical nature. The jobholder manages the impact of corporate projects on the Advice process, contributing as technical expert to wider project deliverables as required. Advice Policy Consultants can expect to support both Advice Policy Leads on larger projects and have responsibility for their own change initiatives and BAU.

What you\’ll be doing:

· Manage the change delivery of Advice workstreams which are impacted by corporate or legislative change; contributing to multiple projects across the business and overseeing the work of more junior team members as needed. This includes applying the principles of Consumer Duty at every step.

· Design, deliver and maintain appropriate advice documentation and supporting Partnership materials as required by the business ensuring these meet SJP corporate standards; engaging with third party suppliers as well as other internal departments.

· Engage with and understand the impact of legislative changes; implementing Advice policy and procedural changes across the SJP Partnership and other areas of the business.

· Provide consultancy support and technical expertise on advice guidance related issues – both internally and externally across the SJP UK businesses.

· Develop clear and effective communication methods and training plan content for cascading information on business and legislative changes to the Advice Framework and Suitability requirements to the Partnership, Field Management Team, and Business Assurance (BA).

· Lead the design and delivery of additional technical support material such as help sheets, Q&A docs and checklists both for BA and Partners/PSS.

· Engage with, and present to, a variety of audiences; Partners, Partnership Support Staff, Senior Stakeholders and deputise for the Head of Advice Proposition Development as required

Who we\’re looking for:

A creative individual that can think outside the box to identify solutions to complex problems involving technical information and the design of our Suitability Letter report writing tool. You will also be knowledgeable within all aspects of advice processes who can be seen as a source of advice for others around them in one of more technical areas.

Essential Criteria

· CII Diploma qualified as a minimum

· Experience with all aspects of Advice processes and can deliver change that meets the expectations of the regulator, Partners and clients

· Strong experience with the principles and standards that underpin financial planning advice, the FCA COBS Suitability assessment and documentation requirements.

· Experienced with identifying and creatively solving complex problems, involving technical information and the design of our Suitability Letter report writing tool.

Desirable Criteria

· Investment, IHT & Trust Planning experience desirable

· Chartered qualification also desirable

Special Requirements:

The role has a requirement for some travel between offices.
