Within our Foundation Learning department, we provide programmes that support young people and adults to develop essential skills, confidence, and independence – helping them prepare for further education, employment, and adulthood.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our College as Curriculum Area Manager – Foundation Learning. In this pivotal role, you will support the Director of Inclusion with all operational matters within the Foundation Learning curriculum area. Your focus will be on delivering a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our learners, including those accessing 14–16 provision and Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) schools.

Responsibilities

  • Working collaboratively with the Director of Inclusion to ensure that curriculum design and delivery meet the needs of learners, employers, and the wider community.
  • Leading and supporting teaching teams to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences that promote achievement, progression, and personal development.
  • Supporting the management of curriculum planning, performance, timetabling, and budgets in line with college strategy.
  • Embedding safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion (FREDIE principles) throughout the curriculum area.
  • Driving continuous quality improvement and contributing to college-wide quality assurance processes such as QAR, SAR, and performance reviews.
  • Building strong relationships with students, parents, employers, and partner schools to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.
