Role Summary
The Internal Technical Sales Manager is an office‑based sales role responsible for driving revenue growth, customer engagement, and account development within either the wholesale or installer channel. The role focuses on managing inbound enquiries, executing proactive outbound sales activity, and developing long‑term commercial relationships with assigned customer groups. This position is not field‑based and does not include travel to customer sites as a core requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Activity & Lead Management
- Conduct regular outbound calls to assigned wholesale branches or installer accounts.
- Proactively identify, research, and contact potential new wholesale customers to expand the company’s stockist network.
- Maintain structured call cycles to develop engagement, retention, and repeat business.
- Re‑engage inactive or under‑performing accounts using appropriate sales and negotiation techniques.
- Present product range, commercial terms, and partnership opportunities to prospective stockists in a clear and professional manner over the phone.
- Manage the onboarding process for new wholesale accounts, ensuring smooth transition from prospect to active stockist.
- Maintain ongoing contact with new and existing stockists to build strong, sustainable commercial relationships.
- Follow up on quotes, leads, and customer queries to maximise conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all sales activity within the CRM system (HubSpot or equivalent).
- Manage inbound telephone enquiries and shared sales/installer inboxes, ensuring timely, professional responses where applicable.
- Account Ownership & Performance
- Act as the primary internal sales contact for assigned accounts within the relevant channel.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with both installers and wholesalers to support long‑term growth.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets and defined performance KPIs.
- Installer Channel Responsibilities
- Increase engagement of installer customers on a month‑on‑month basis.
- Support coordination of training activity, including HQ visits, training days, and site engagement where required with the field team.
- Support the Product Champion Scheme and associated communications where required.
- Support the re‑engagement of inactive leads and re‑connect them with local installers.
- Wholesale Channel Responsibilities
- Drive engagement and growth across assigned wholesale branches.
- Maintain regular structured contact with wholesale partners to support sales growth.
- Support wholesale account growth through proactive outreach and relationship management.
- Assist in strengthening retention and repeat purchase behaviour across the wholesale network.
Performance Measures
- Monthly sales targets and revenue growth KPI achievement.
- Customer engagement and retention metrics.
- CRM accuracy.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Previous demonstrable experience of working within a technical sales role.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Technically competent with a deep understanding of renewable energy products (solar PV, EV charging infrastructure, battery storage, etc.).
- Self‑motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities independently.
