Role Summary: A skilled technician to support the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of returned electronic products. This role involves identifying faults, performing live testing, and utilising schematics to troubleshoot issues. The technician will be responsible for reworking PCBs, including SMT and soldering tasks, and conducting final rig testing to ensure product functionality. Accurate logging of repair activities using systems such as Excel along with maintaining effective stock control. You will have a strong attention to detail, hands‑on technical ability, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect returned (RMA) products for faults or damage
- Diagnose faults and issues within units
- Perform live operational testing on units
- Utilise schematics to assist in fault diagnosis
- Test individual PCBs using appropriate test equipment
- Conduct SMT (Surface Mount Technology) rework as required
- Solder components onto PCBs or assemblies
- Execute final rig testing on fully assembled units
- Accurately log repair activities using systems such as Excel, Interprise, and Aegis
- Manage and maintain stock control processes
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Understanding of equipment functionality (training will be provided if required)
- Proficient in using a microscope for detailed inspection and analysis
- IPC certification preferred (training available)
- Hands‑on experience in soldering techniques
- Demonstrates a high level of technical skill and precision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
