Role Summary
You will have a passion for developing cutting edge cloud solutions supporting millions of devices that our customers around the world rely on every single day. You will be instrumental to the design, implementation, monitoring and support of our services and integral to the Software Engineering function which is core to myenergi’s long term business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient backend code; primarily in Typescript with some Terraform (IaC) as needed.
- Architect, implement, test and support high quality cloud based software on AWS.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing both technical leadership and support.
- Troubleshoot and debug software defects.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineering, firmware, support and production.
- Support the application of a testing trophy throughout the software stack.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Expert level software development experience with Typescript.
- Intermediate level of cloud infrastructure experience, preferably AWS using IaC.
- Experience with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest and Vitest.
- Familiarity with agile development, both Kanban and Scrum.
- Some knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, etc.
- Strong debugging skills, ideally down to a network level with tools such as Wireshark.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a distributed multinational team as well as independently.
Desirable
- A very basic understanding of electrical engineering (kW, kWh, Amps, Volts, etc).
- Experience with other languages such as Python, C, C# and Rust, plus frameworks such as React.
- Experience with similar smart home devices, vehicle charge points, solar diverters, etc.
