About the role
Help us transform the volunteering experience at Myeloma UK. We're looking for an experienced People & Culture, People Experience or Senior Volunteer Management professional who combines compassion with action. Someone who leads with heart, builds trusted relationships and enjoys turning ambitious ideas into practical, sustainable solutions.
Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, you'll work with senior leaders, volunteer managers, People and Culture Colleagues and volunteers across the organisation to design and embed a modern volunteer experience that reflects our values and supports our ambitious People & Culture agenda.
You’ll create a complete volunteer lifecycle, from attraction and recruitment through to onboarding, development, engagement, recognition and retention, ensuring every volunteer has a consistent, inclusive and rewarding experience.
This is primarily a transformation role. Around three-quarters of your time will be spent leading a high-profile organisational project to redesign and embed our volunteering experience, while the remaining time will focus on coordinating volunteering activities that help our volunteers and managers succeed.
This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up and leave a lasting legacy by creating an outstanding volunteering experience for current and future volunteers. You don't need extensive volunteer management experience although charity sector and understanding of volunteering is a must. We're looking for someone with strong people experience expertise, project and change management skills and, above all, someone who leads with compassion. You'll be equally comfortable influencing senior leaders, supporting managers and rolling up your sleeves to make things happen. For the right person, this role offers genuine opportunity to develop into a broader People & Culture leadership role as our organisation and team continue to evolve.
