Here at mydentist, we are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Supervisor to support a new pilot training scheme in the UK. As part of the new BDS international course, you will be supporting overseas qualified Dentists during a placement at our Enhanced Training Practice in Falmouth, which will be equivalent to 4th and 5th year of a traditional UK BDS. You will be joining an established team of 5 clinical supervisors, and this role is ideally suited for colleagues wishing to reduce their direct clinical commitments and support teaching and training.
More about the responsibilities of the role:
- Work in the practice on Fridays.
- Provide clinical supervision and support to up to 4 overseas qualified dentists in a general dental practice environment.
- Liaise with the educational staff of the Dental School at UCLAN and the mydentist clinical team about the progress and abilities of the dental students.
- Attend training or meetings deemed appropriate by UCLAN and/or mydentist for clinical supervisors.
- Assess and grade the treatment provided and professionalism of the students to meet their clinical requirements.
- Maintain skills, competencies, and continued professional development relevant to general practice and supporting dental students.
- Liaise with the practice manager to ensure the satisfactory integration of dental students into the practice.
- Provide pastoral support to dental students and report any issues to UCLAN and mydentist.
Role Requirements:
- Full GDC registration as a Dentist.
- Minimum 4 years post-qualification UK experience as a general Dentist.
- Previous experience in teaching or mentoring is desirable.
