Mydas Recruitment are experts in the sourcing and supply of Engineers to leading organisations. We have an exciting project with a multinational manufacturing organisation based in Filton to support new projects.

Candidates should have experience in:

  • Performing F&DT analysis and compiling justification reports for repair designs using client approved methods and tools, working closely with skilled Design and Static Stress engineers to develop optimum repairs.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to internal teams, including the offshore teams, and any suppliers as required.
  • Where necessary, leading packages of work, and integrating with Design and Static Stress teams for a major incident or complex activities.
  • Developing methods and processes for repair analysis, working with method experts and tool owners to enhance the analysis capability of the repair teams.
  • Working with the client NDT specialist, developing inspection processes for repaired aircraft.
  • Providing support to the repair team on other structure perimeters such as Fuselage, Empennage, High-Lift devices, etc.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience.
  • An aerospace F&DT engineering background.
  • Experience of F&DT analysis of aircraft structures using a range of processes, methods, and toolsets (ISAMI, GISEH) and experience generating Technical Dossiers/Reports.
  • Technical understanding of metallic and composite structures with an emphasis on F&DT analysis.
  • An understanding of the fundamental methods of fatigue and damage tolerance analysis and an ability to develop these methods.
  • Understanding of the airworthiness regulations.
  • An understanding and ability to decide, with a good rationale, on how the repair design affects the F&DT of aircraft structure.
  • An ability to choose and apply appropriate analysis methods to the repair design.
  • Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design, Customer Services and suppliers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • The ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables.
  • The capability to work under pressure and ensure the delivery is technically correct, on time and on quality within the tight time constraints.
  • Be pragmatic, able to solve the problem and ability to make decisions based on a good engineering rationale.
