We are developing the next generation of PCB test equipment designed to transform the way circuit boards are validated in manufacturing. Position Overview: Design the mechanical structures, linear motors, and active force-feedback mechanisms that allow us to test PCBs. Lead the design, development and testing of complex robotic systems and mechatronic sub-assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate mechanical, electronic, and software components into unified robotic platforms.
  • Program and optimize industrial robotic systems (4-axis and 6-axis automation).
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot, fault-find, and developmental robotic installations.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mastery of 3D CAD (Inventor/SolidWorks) with a focus on vibration dampening and structural rigidity.
  • Experience developing active force-sensing end effectors for delicate surface contact.

Desirable:

  • Experience in one or more of: PCB manufacturing or electronic assembly, Electrical testing of PCBs, High-speed digital electronics, Robotics and motion control, Machine vision, Precision metrology, Automated test equipment (ATE).

Location: Onsite at our facility in Macclesfield, with regular attendance at our remote engineering facilities and customer sites as required.
