Imagine coming to work each day in a beautiful retirement community just one street from the water, where your leadership directly shapes the experience of residents and their families. BallyCara is looking for an experienced and inspiring Village General Manager to lead our Scarborough Village Team and help create an exceptional environment where residents feel valued, connected, supported and proud to call BallyCara home. This is a full-time senior leadership position, with an occasional requirement to work evenings and weekends to support the Village Team, resident activities and community events. This flexibility will ensure you are visible and available when it matters most to our residents and team.

About the Role

As Village General Manager, you will provide visible, hands-on leadership across our retirement village, overseeing day-to-day operations while ensuring residents receive an outstanding living experience. You will lead a diverse Village Team and be accountable for:

  • Leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing team
  • Creating an engaging and connected community for residents
  • Overseeing lifestyle programs, village services and resident experience
  • Driving operational performance, financial sustainability and budget outcomes
  • Supporting village sales, occupancy, growth and business opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders
  • Managing quality, feedback, complaints, risk, governance and compliance
  • Working closely with Facilities to maintain a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment
  • Using data and operational insights to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Contributing to BallyCara's broader strategic direction as a member of the Senior Leadership Team

The Village General Manager is central to ensuring people, services and facilities work together to create a vibrant, safe and deeply connected community.

About You

You will be an experienced people leader who is equally comfortable talking with residents, leading a team, managing budgets and working through complex operational challenges. You will bring:

  • Education, training and/or experience relevant to Retirement Living and equivalent to a degree in Business, Management or Health Services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Aged Care services
  • Experience managing a retirement Village
  • Knowledge of the QLD Retirement Villages Act 1999
  • Proven effective leadership and management skills that drive teamwork, high performance, and excellence in service provision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management that demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively and positively influence outcomes and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to manage and monitor budgets and develop reports as required.
