About the Role

As our Facilities Team Leader – Grounds, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our grounds and gardens team, ensuring our outdoor spaces are maintained to an exceptional standard.

You'll be hands-on when needed, while also coordinating workloads, mentoring team members, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement across our sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support the Grounds team
  • Schedule and coordinate daily, weekly and annual grounds maintenance activities
  • Maintain gardens, lawns, landscapes, and outdoor areas to a high standard
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Manage grounds equipment, tools, vehicles, and materials
  • Support WHS compliance and safe work practices
  • Build positive relationships with residents, staff, and contractors
  • Identify opportunities to improve presentation, efficiency, and service delivery
  • Respond professionally to feedback and maintenance requests

Skills And Experiences

About You

You are a proactive leader who enjoys rolling up your sleeves and takes pride in creating outstanding outdoor spaces.

You'll Bring:

  • Experience in horticulture, grounds maintenance, or facilities management
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A safety-first mindset
  • Current driver's licence
  • Current First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Police Check (or ability to obtain)

Highly Regarded:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Horticulture (or willingness to obtain)
  • 5+ years' horticultural experience
  • Experience managing grounds maintenance across large or complex sites
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems, equipment maintenance, and landscaping best practices
