About us: Based in Farnborough, myairops is a leader of SaaS products to the aviation industry with customers across the globe with diverse challenges including corporate flight departments, brokers, medical providers, military and business aviation operators. Solutions are provided through innovative web delivered software and connected mobile applications. Our offerings are all cloud based and are scaling quickly. We utilise cloud tools and processing capability to be more predictive, leading to efficient scheduling of aircraft maintenance, removing the manual processes that are part of the day-to-day in the aviation industry.

About the Role: We’re growing very fast and are on track to onboard many exciting new customers throughout 2025 and beyond, along with adding more software & mobile engineers, data engineers, QA’s and product focused people to our existing technical team of around 25. This role serves as the pivotal connection between technical execution and strategic delivery within our organisation. This role cultivates team excellence by establishing effective workflow processes while nurturing a collaborative environment where innovation flourishes. You will balance analytical oversight of metrics with interpersonal guidance, ensuring the team evolves into a cohesive unit that consistently exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Run efficient daily stand-ups to identify blockers and encourage team collaboration.
  • Analyse sprint performance to improve future delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage work item estimation to improve scheduling and predictability.
  • Track team metrics for capacity planning.
  • Foster team cohesion and clear communication.
  • Facilitate retrospectives and ensure completion of action items.
  • Maintain quality deliverables and provide revised timelines when needed.
  • Help team adapt to changing priorities.
  • Communicate delivery dates to stakeholders.
  • Conduct performance reviews for team members.
  • Support recruitment planning and interviewing.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:

Essential:

  • MUST have recent experience of a smaller, fast paced, customer led delivery environment, as opposed to big corporations or matrixed environments.
  • Experience leading the delivery of engineering teams of more than 15 people.
  • Experience using delivery management tools such as Azure DevOps or the Atlassian toolset.
  • Understanding the psychology of effective and high performing teams.
  • Able to demonstrate effective line management (direct reporting).
  • Excellent communication, high emotional intelligence and help the team cohesion.
  • Pragmatic, understanding that often the reality differs from the theoretical.
  • Willing to take ownership and accountability of the engineering process.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective and practical change management approaches.
  • Able to demonstrate clear understanding of capacity management and the common challenges encountered in planning & estimating.

Desirable:

  • Have an interest or direct experience of the aviation/transport industry.
  • Hold a Scrum Master Certification - PSM-1 or CSM-1.
  • Have a Software Engineering background, preferably in C#/.NET.
