If you’re passionate about learning, enjoy problem‑solving, and want to grow within a supportive engineering environment, this role is a great opportunity to develop into a fully‑fledged DevOps professional.

About us: myairops® is a fast‑growing technology business providing specialist SaaS solutions to the aviation industry. Our customers span corporate flight departments, brokers, medical providers, military operations and business aviation operators across the globe. As part of our scale‑up journey, we onboard new customers every month and continuously evolve our global cloud infrastructure. Our DevOps team works with the latest Azure technologies across networking, event‑driven microservices, serverless computing, containerisation, SQL and NoSQL data stores, analytics, and deployment‑by‑code. We’re a friendly team of experts, optimists and problem‑solvers who value communication, respect and shared success.

About the role: As an Associate DevOps Engineer, you’ll support the maintenance, monitoring and evolution of our Azure‑based infrastructure. You’ll work closely with our experienced DevOps Team Lead and wider engineering teams, gaining hands‑on experience with automation, deployments, troubleshooting and cloud operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their DevOps journey—perhaps with some exposure to cloud technologies, scripting or CI/CD—and who is eager to learn, collaborate and grow. You’ll be supported every step of the way as you build confidence and capability.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the scheduling and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and customer environment upgrades.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues under guidance from senior team members.
  • Help maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Contribute to automating manual processes using scripts, templates and pipelines.
  • Learn to create and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code and deployment automation.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of containerised applications using tools like Docker and Kubernetes (training provided).
  • Work as part of cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure smooth delivery from requirements to release.
  • Engage with colleagues across the business, building strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture built on respect, shared values and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience:

  • Some exposure to Microsoft Azure, cloud concepts or virtualised environments.
  • Basic understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and tools such as Git.
  • Familiarity with scripting or markup languages (e.g., PowerShell, YAML, JSON).
  • Interest in automation, cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with technical and non‑technical colleagues.
  • A collaborative team player with good problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, ARM/Bicep, or other IaC tools.
  • Exposure to containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of monitoring tools such as Application Insights, Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Some familiarity with SQL, REST APIs, .NET or Postman.
  • Azure certifications or progress towards them.

What we offer:

  • Investment in training, qualifications and professional development.
  • Electric Car Scheme.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • Discounts at popular retailers.
  • Two paid volunteering days per year (subject to approval).

*Subject to insurance underwriting. Due to the volume of applications received, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted. If you do not hear from us within 20 working days, your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.
