We're recruiting for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our recruitment agency in the heart of Northampton. You will be responsible for producing and processing weekly payroll, ensuring all activities are done to a high standard (on time, in full with no errors). This includes all activities relating to and surrounding the monthly processing and annual activities.
In addition to payroll, this role is responsible for managing the Sage systems in place, keeping them up to date and accurate at all times, including reporting to the Managing Director.
Available for a May/June start date.
Salary: £27,000 - £35,000 negotiable, dependent on experience.
Location: Mainly office based with occasional working from home, with a view to becoming hybrid after a successful probation period.
We need you to:
- Be skilled at strong maths skills with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Communicate to others with varying levels of understanding.
- Have IT skills, with an advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Prioritise and own projects to closure.
- Have proven 2 years of work experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar.
- Manage weekly payroll for up to 150 workers per week.
- Have hands-on experience with Sage Payroll software.
- Use your initiative to take ownership of this area of responsibility.
- Demonstrate knowledge of payroll processing, tax and tax year processing, statutory payments & reporting requirements, and labour legislation.
- Hold CIPP qualifications (preferred).
- Be organised and logical in approach.
- Be approachable, detail-conscious, proactive, and good at customer service.
Role Duties:
- Process the weekly payroll to a high level, expecting an accuracy rate of 98% +.
- Manage all variable data: starters/leavers, ad hoc requests, timesheet collation and reporting.
- Post payroll reporting, tax year end processing, P60s, P11Ds, employer NIC contributions, early year updates.
- Manage HMRC account.
- Be the point of contact for employee queries on pay.
- Invoice tracking and tax payments.
