We're recruiting for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our recruitment agency in the heart of Northampton. You will be responsible for producing and processing weekly payroll, ensuring all activities are done to a high standard (on time, in full with no errors). This includes all activities relating to and surrounding the monthly processing and annual activities.

In addition to the payroll, this role is responsible for managing the Sage systems in place, keeping them up to date and accurate at all times, including reporting to the Managing Director.

Available for a March start date.

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 negotiable, dependent on experience.

We need you to be skilled at:

  • Strong maths skills with an ability to spot numerical errors
  • Communicating to others with varying levels of understanding
  • IT skills, with an advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Prioritising and owning projects to closure

Have experience of:

  • Proven 2 years of work experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar
  • Managing payroll for up to 150 workers per week
  • Hands-on experience with Sage Payroll software
  • Using your initiative to take ownership for this area of responsibility

Demonstrate knowledge of:

  • Payroll processing
  • Tax and tax year processing
  • Statutory Payments & Reporting Requirements
  • Labour Legislation

  • CIPP preferred

  • Process the weekly payroll to a high level expecting an accuracy rate of 98% +
  • Manage all variable data

  • Timesheet collation and reporting
  • Post payroll reporting
  • Tax Year End Processing
  • P60s
  • P11ds
  • Employer NIC contributions
  • Early Year Updates
  • Managing HMRC account
  • Point of contact for employee queries on Pay
  • Invoice tracking
  • Tax Payments
