Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Assistant Team Manager within the Children’s Social Work Team to work full time based in Medway. The salary for this permanent Assistant Team Manager job is up to £56,615 per annum.

Responsibilities include:

  • Line management responsibility for 3-4 social workers and delivering high-quality supervision regularly to review case work and critically reflect on the work being undertaken.
  • Case management oversight and timely decision making.
  • Effective implementation and review of children’s plans.
  • Reflecting and recognising areas of practice which are good or require improvement and supporting the ongoing learning and development of children.
  • Completing and reviewing performance development plans for supervisees to enhance personal and professional development needs and contribute towards staff retention.
  • Chairing strategy, review, planning, professional, and network meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with Data Protection legislation (GDPR) and using Medway Council specific recording systems to promote effective case management.
  • Supporting the safer recruitment and selection of new staff within the team and across Children’s Social Care to ensure staffing levels are maintained.
  • Keeping up to date with the Council’s organisational policies, government guidance, legislation, research, and national trends to maintain the highest professional standards.
  • Deputising for the Team Manager where necessary and as appropriate.
  • Being the first point of contact for support and advice for supervisees and attending meetings on behalf of the manager when they are on leave.
  • Actively promoting work-life balance and flexible working to achieve high-quality service delivery.
  • Working with colleagues, Team Managers, Service Managers, and the Head of Service to achieve service plan objectives/targets.
  • Engaging in other activities as may be agreed consistent with the nature of the job.

Requirements of this Assistant Team Manager role:

  • A social work qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
