What You'll Be Doing

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will

  • Provide high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS.
  • Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and families.
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning experiences that support children's development.
  • Observe, assess and record children's progress.
  • Maintain a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.
  • Promote inclusion, wellbeing and positive outcomes for every child.
  • Build positive relationships with colleagues, parents and external professionals.
  • Champion safeguarding, health and safety, and high-quality practice.
  • Additional Responsibilities for Senior Nursery Practitioners

As a Senior Nursery Practitioner, you'll also

  • Support the Room Leader in the day-to-day running of the room.
  • Help maintain outstanding standards of care and education.
  • Support, coach and mentor colleagues, apprentices and students.
  • Lead by example and help drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop valuable leadership skills in preparation for future progression opportunities, including Room Leader roles.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS Framework and child development.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A positive, professional and enthusiastic approach.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

Desirable

  • Experience working with children under 3 years old.
  • Experience within a Baby Room, Pre-Toddler or Toddler Room.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues (Senior Practitioner applicants).
  • Experience working with SEND.
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections.
  • Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding or Food Hygiene qualifications.
