My Product Path are partnered with a global life safety organisation to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer to join a global technology team supporting a complex but fun technical infrastructure!

As a Tier 3 Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for managing and supporting on-premise infrastructure for our clients, with a focus on firewalls, networking (switches and wireless technologies), virtualization platforms (ESXi and Hyper-V), and Windows Server environments. You will also handle backup and disaster recovery solutions using Veeam and will have working knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure. As this is a customer-facing role, strong communication skills are essential.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain and support on-premise infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, Windows Server roles (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTFS), and virtualisation platforms (ESXi, Hyper-V).
  • Administer and support backup and disaster recovery solutions, primarily using Veeam whilst leveraging the cloud for offsite solution.
  • Deliver intermediate-level troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to networking, server infrastructure, and virtualisation.
  • Provide support for cloud-based environments, with an intermediate working knowledge of Azure.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure security best practices are implemented across on-premise environments, with a particular focus on firewalls and network segmentation.
  • Providing BAU support for the businesses and supporting the junior engineers with escalation issues.
  • Ensure detailed and comprehensive information is captured for each ticket, including user details, issue description, troubleshooting steps taken, and resolution.
  • Categorise, prioritise, and assign tickets according to established procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain timely and accurate updates on ticket status and resolution progress throughout the ticket lifecycle.
Key Requirements:
  • Experience working in on-premise infrastructure environments.
  • Some working knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with firewalls (configuration, management, and troubleshooting) and networking technologies (switches, wireless networks, NPS).
  • Expertise in virtualisation platforms, including VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Proficient in administering and supporting Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTFS).
  • Working knowledge of Veeam for backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Basic to intermediate working knowledge of SQL.
  • Intermediate to advanced server hardware knowledge (Dell, HP, SANs, clusters).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience working directly with clients.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure (on-premise to cloud integrations).
  • Certifications such as CCNA, VCP, or Microsoft Certified.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting to enhance operational efficiency.
